Changing Your Password

Password Sync

Passwords can take up to 5 minutes to sync to Google and Office 365 (staff email) after being changed. If your password doesn't work immediately after changing it, wait a few minutes and try again

Password Security

  • Do not use use the same password on many different websites.
  • Your school district password should not be the same password you use anywhere else.
  • Do not share your password with anyone, including IT staff.
  • Other common causes of password theft are viruses, responding to phishing emails, and clicking on untrustworthy links which ask for your password. Be careful out there!

1. Select NoMAD (triangle icon) from the top menu bar and select Change Password. 


2. Log in with your district username and password. 


3. Select Change Password and set a new password.


4. Set a new password. You will need to supply your current password.

6. Once a new password has been changed successfully, NoMAD will prompt to sync the old local Mac password to your new password.


7. Select Sign In. Enter your username and new password. 


8. Enter your old password and select Sync. Your old, local Mac password will be changed to your new password.

Warning

When not in the district your local Mac password will not automatically sync to the password you just changed. Once your network password has changed continue to follow directions to manually change your Mac password.

1. Browse to https://sso.shakopee.k12.mn.us


2. Log in with your district username and password. 


3. Select Change Password and set a new password.


4. Set a new password. You will need to supply your current password.

5. To sync your local Mac password, start by opening System Preferences. 


6. Select Users & Groups. 


7. Select Change Password...


8. Enter your old password and then enter the new password that you created in RapidID.

You can't change your password on a PC when off site. Change your password next time your PC is connected to the district network. Email helpdesk@shakopee.k12.mn.us for more assistance.
