Overview

Shakopee Public Schools will offer a limited quantity of Verizon\T-Mobile internet access hotspots

  • Reserved for students in grades 6-12 as part of our 1:1 device use and K-8 Online students.
  • Students/Parents can work with building administration to request a hotspot

Connecting to MiFi

Decision Tree
Select your device.
Delete

Warning

District provided MiFis are restricted to only connect to District issued equipment.  Device credentials / WiFi password will not be shared outside of Technology Team.


  • iPad
  • Macbook
  • Add Button
Power on district issued MiFi.

On iPad open Settings

  • Locate on screen (may be in a folder)
  • Use search function for Settings

Select Wi-Fi


Locate SabersMiFi on list of available Wi-Fi

If doesn't appear try:

  1. toggling Wi-Fi off / on
  2. power cycle both Macbook and MiFi

Select SabersMiFi

If device fails to connect try:

Power on district issued MiFi.

On Macbook open Wi-Fi menu from toolbar


Locate SabersMiFi on list of available Wi-Fi

If doesn't appear try:

  1. toggling Wi-Fi off / on
  2. power cycle both Macbook and MiFi

Select SabersMiFi

If device fails to connect try:

Best Practices

  • Placement:
    • place device nearest to outside wall or in window
  • Power
    • Device can remain on as long as supplied power via included block and cable
