Infinite Campus for Parents

Overview 

Infinite Campus is available for students and parents/guardians. As a supporter of your child’s education, it is important that you have your own Parent Portal account so you can better understand, monitor and participate in the educational process with real-time access to your student’s information, including:

  • Assignments
  • Attendance
  • Bus routes
  • Fees for transportation, activities, band, student parking, AP exams, yearbooks, etc.
  • Report Cards
  • Schedules
  • School Store

The Parent Portal is also where you can find the latest district and school announcements and select your preferences for receiving email communications from your child’s school.

PLEASE NOTE: Parents should have their own login.  Using a student's login for the portal will not show you certain screens, such as fee payment, registration, or certain surveys.

You will be able to see attendance, grades (secondary), health information, assessments, and fees as well as check food service accounts/balances through the Parent Portal.  Please set up your account using the Activation Key and steps below. 

The Activation Key is only needed the first time you access the portal. After that, the activation key will not work and the username that was created in previous school years should be used to log into the Portal. Be sure to write your username and password down and keep it in a safe location for future reference.

Activation Keys are sent home to parents in a personalized letter at the beginning of the school year. If you have not received the letter or want quicker access to your account, or just need the info again, please contact your child's school.

Step by Step Guide

1. Go to the Infinite Campus Parent portal login page.  Use the Infinite Campus icon/link on the district's webpage or Visit  https://shakopeemn.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/shakopee.jsp 

2. Click New User?

3. Enter your Activation Key in the space provided and then Submit.  (Reminder: This key is specific to the individual.  If multiple parents want to create individual accounts, for instance, they would each have their own specific activation key.)

4. The activation key will be verified, and when approved will display a Welcome screen with your name.  Enter a Username and Password and click Submit. (Password strength must be green to save)

5. Click Back to Login

6. Enter a required security email along with your password you just created.  This email will be used to contact the user regarding account security and username/password recovery.


7. Click Save

Subsequent Portal Access

After the activation key has been used to create a portal account, it will no longer be valid. Parents will subsequently log in to the Campus portal using their unique User Name and Password.

Fees

Fees may include items such as technology device insurance, damaged book assessments, costs for specific courses, and so on.  They are generally assigned to all or to specific students in a household.

View all fees that are currently due. Click “Add to Cart” for the fees you would like to pay

Once fees have been added to cart click “My Cart”

Verify fees in your cart and click “pay” - if you do not have a payment method entered click "Add Payment Method” and complete payment information. Click “Save”



Click “Pay” and a confirmation will appear. Verify the amount and click “Yes”.

A receipt of your payment will popup on your screen. You can choose to print or close out.

Food Service

In the parent portal, start at the Food Service menu.


In this area you can view current balance, account history, and start the process of adding funds to the food service account.

Report card access

You can always check Infinite Campus to view any report cards that have been posted throughout the school year.

Transportation

The Infinite Campus Parent Portal can be used to review Transportation information.

Prior to the finalization of bus routes, this section may not be available.  The district will communicate when transportation information has been posted and available for review.

Visit the district website for general information about transportation and related forms.


After logging in to the parent portal, click on More, then click on Transportation to view bus stop information.

Campus Parent puts school information like Attendance, Fees, Schedules, Health, Transportation, Test Scores and Food Service balances at your fingertips.

To set up a new account, you will need an Activation Key. The Activation Key is only used once to create your user account. After that, the activation key will not work and the user name that was created should be used to log into the Portal. 

Letters are sent home at the beginning of the school year with your assigned Activation Key.  If you did not receive your key or have misplaced it, please contact your child's school and they can assist you with retrieving it.


Step by Step Guide

1. Open the app and search for your District Name and State, entering at least 3 characters of your district's name to search.  Select your district from the list.

If you are setting up a brand new account, you'll need to do the steps below.  Otherwise, log in with an existing username and password.

2. Click New User?

3. Enter your Activation Key in the space provided and then Submit.

Parent app notifications

Notifications are available through the Campus Parent mobile apps.  You may need to enable notifications on your device as well, in addition to the app settings.

Step by Step Guide

1. Before you log in, mark Stay Logged In to receive notifications.


2. After logging in, click the user menu in the top right and then click Settings and Notification Settings.

3. From there, indicate which types of notifications you'd like to receive.
