Illustrative Math by Imagine Learning is the official math curriculum in Shakopee Schools for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. More information about the curriculum can be found here. Teachers, multi-classroom teachers, and students all access IL Classroom lessons and Imagine Math through their ClassLink launchpad. Below are some guides to help staff with the basic functions of IL Classroom and Imagine Math.

How to Login and Access Lessons (Teachers and Multi-Classroom Teachers)

  1. Open ClassLink and sign in using your K12 email address and password. You can find ClassLink Launchpad linked in the Shakopee Bookmarks on district devices or you can go here.

2. Locate IL Classroom and click on it.

3. If you have been provided a link directly to a lesson, you can click on it to take you directly to the lesson or you can click on Imagine IM K-5 to navigate to your lesson.

4. Select the relevant grade to navigate to your lesson or scroll down to find the curriculum in Spanish, Centers, and Virtual Manipulatives.

5. Once you have selected a grade level, you can find a unit and all the lessons within it.

How to Login and Access Lessons (Casual Subs)

  1. Log into the sub computer you were provided using the generic username and password you were provided (Ex: ROSubTeach).

2. In Google Chrome, open the Shakopee Bookmarks and select ClassLink LaunchPad. Sign in using the generic username and password you were provided, but also include @shakopee.k12.mn.us in the username (Ex: ROSubTeach@shakopee.k12.mn.us).

3. In ClassLink, click on the Sub Plans folder. This will open a new tab in Chrome for Google Drive, taking you directly to the Sub Drive for the building you are in. Find the folder and sub plans for the teacher you are subbing for.

4. Open your sub plans and click on any link to a lesson that the teacher has provided you. It should take you directly to the lesson in IL Classroom. See the directions below on “Teaching a Lesson in IL Classroom." If you were not provided a link, you can click on IL Classroom in ClassLink to attempt to navigate to the lesson you will be teaching in class that day.

Linking Lessons to Sub Plans

If you are a classroom teacher that needs to prepare sub plans, you can provide a link to a specific lesson in IL Classroom. Navigate in IL Classroom to the lesson that you want to teach, copy the website URL from the address bar, and then paste that link into your sub plans (which should be stored in your building's Sub Drive).

Teaching a Lesson in IL Classroom

Once you have navigated to a unit, you can choose a lesson. Each lesson contains three sections: Plan, Teach, and Support. “Plan” will provide an overview to the unit and any introductory videos for the lesson. “Teach” will give you access to all the sections within a unit that you use while you teach. “Support” includes additional practice materials and family engagement resources.

Once you have found a lesson to teach, you will see a screen that looks something like this. If you are teaching from your iPad or have a computer connected to a SMART board, you can click on fullscreen mode and then click on Annotate to bring up the tools on the left to right on and interact with the lesson slides.

Imagine Math

Imagine Math is a supplemental math curriculum that aligns with IL Classroom lessons. It is adaptive and personalized to student performance. It has live, built-in tutoring options for students to connect with a teacher online.

Imagine Math can be accessed via the ClassLink Launchpad. Depending on the grade level you work with, the student experience is going to be different. PK-2 and 3-5 have a very different interface.
