On a regular basis you will be prompted to install an update to the Relay web filter software. Relay runs on all district managed Macs. A prompt like the one below will pop up once per day until the update is complete. Installing the update takes about 1-2 minutes and requires a restart. You will be prompted to restart after the software installation is done.
If you choose not to install the update before the required date the software will be automatically installed silently in the background and Mac restarted without being prompted. Since this can be disruptive the IT department tries to give a wide window when the update is optional, typically around two weeks.
At any time you can also install that latest Relay version through Self Service. For example, if you miss the update prompt or prefer to update Relay later in the day. Search for the word "relay" within Self Service and install the software.
