IPEVO (pronounced eye-PEH-voh) is a brand of document cameras used by many elementary teachers in Shakopee schools. The IPEVO doc cam can be used to display documents to the class to model how to complete assignments, demonstrate handwriting, etc.
There are a few ways to configure your doc cam depending on the layout of the classroom it is used in. Some classrooms have HDMI ports available to plug them in as a standalone device while other rooms may require you to plug the camera into your computer to display via your projector and/or AirPlay. Choose the option that best fits the layout and available connections in your classroom. If you have special circumstances for your classroom arrangement and need help, contact the tech assistant at your building for additional guidance.
Use as a standalone device (recommended)
Whenever possible, it is recommended to use your IPEVO doc cam as a standalone device. This means that you do not need a computer to use it and the doc cam is placed in a stationary location.

1.) Select a location near the front of the room for the doc cam. Plug the USB-C to USB cable into the power brick provided and the doc camera. Plug the power brick into the wall.
2.) Plug the provided HDMI cable into the doc cam and then into the faceplate in the wall.
3.) Flip the power switch on the doc cam.
4.) On your projector, change the input to an HDMI input so that it displays your doc cam.
5.) The doc cam should function at this point. You can use the buttons on the side of the doc cam to turn on a light, filter out colors to make it easier to read, rotate your image, zoom in or out, increase or decrease the exposure, and auto-focus.
Use with your computer
1.) Open Self Service on your MacBook and download the IPEVO Visualizer software. When it is done installing, open it. If prompted, allow it to access your camera and “find devices on local networks.” Additionally, you can use the web version of the IPEVO software if you prefer to stay in Chrome/Safari or are having issues with the Visualizer software available in Self Service. Be sure to allow camera access if prompted.

2.) Using a USB to USB-C adapter, connect the USB cable to your MacBook. If you do not have an adapter or would prefer a USB-C to USB-C cable so no adapter is needed, submit a help desk ticket to request one. If the IPEVO doc cam is properly connected to your MacBook, you should see whatever is placed under the doc cam. AirPlay your MacBook to display to your classroom.
